Matthew Geldof received his Bachelor of Arts in Audio Engineering for Film and Television at Fredonia State University.  While enrolled, he studied under Advisor Thomas Loughlin and Professor Jane Jackson. Upon completion Matthew was offered a position with PBS (Rochester, NY) as an operations technician, where he worked directly with veteran recording engineer, David Slaverski.  Much time was spent learning classical music recording and production audio techniques. Additionally, Matthew gained experience in the Audio Recording Department at the Eastman School of Music under the direction of friend and veteran audio engineer/production mixer, John Ebert.

NY Sound Mixer was formed when Matthew moved to New York City to pursue free-lance audio full-time. Matthew has since worked as a production sound mixer on countless documentaries, television shows, films and commercial productions.  He has engineered and produced numerous full-length albums and has acted as post production sound supervisor for several award winning films and documentaries.

Matthew’s credits include work with such networks/labels/production companies  as Sony Pictures,  HGTV, Style Network, PBS, Mag Rack, NBC, BBC, NYC TV, Food Network, TLC, Atlantic Records, Warner Brothers, MTV, Rolling Stone, IFC, and various Broadway productions.

Matthew has worked alongside such notables as Pedro Almodovar, Penelope Cruz, Frank Langella, Michael Sheen, Karl Lagerfeld, Andres Serrano, David Kaplan, David Hyde Pierce, John Winter, Jewel, Jay Z, Usher, Beyonce, Quest Love, LA Reid, Randall Duk Kim, Ken Leung and Oscar de la Renta.

Matthew is a member of the Audio Engineering Society (A.E.S), the New York Sound Mixers Group and a NY 411 approved vendor.
